Star Wars™ | Kross Studio

Kross Studio presents a limited exclusive collector set inspired by the legendary Star Wars bounty hunter, Boba Fett™. Each of the 10 Collector Set complete with a numbered, manual wound Boba Fett™-inspired central Tourbillon timepiece and a watch display made inspired by Boba Fett™’s famed starship.

 

The Galaxy’s most famous bounty hunter

Boba FettTM captured the world’s imagination in the original Star Wars film saga as a fascinating and mysterious bounty hunter. The series The Book of Boba Fett™, available to stream on Disney+, draws fans back into his world of high-stakes, thrilling adventures.

 

KS 7'000 caliber

The timepiece is equipped with our in-house KS 7'000 caliber. Conceived by Marco Tedeschi, this caliber stems from a desire to craft a horological complication with a notable power reserve. Equipped with an impressive oversized barrel, only the center of the movement could accommodate the regulator and the tourbillon, uniting form and function.

This grants the Boba Fett Central Tourbillon a power reserve of over 120 hours and a unique design thanks to the position of its components.

 

Expert craftsmanship

On the top of the tourbillon's cage, a miniature starship rests on its landing platform. Crafted from eight meticulously produced pieces, each miniature of Boba Fett™'s firespray starship is manufactured at Kross Studio using CNC machines. Subsequently, every piece undergoes meticulous engraving and hand painting to replicate the weathered appearance of Boba Fett™'s ship, as seen in Bespin™ at Cloud City in the Star Wars film saga.

The extraordinary level of detail achieved underscores the unique craftsmanship upheld by artisans in Switzerland. The creation of each of the ten pieces based on the starship required an impressive 90 hours, and each one stands as a distinctive and singular work of art.

Peripheral time display

Kross Studio has employed a distinctive peripheral format for reading the hours and minutes through a planetary gear system that orbits 360 degrees around the tourbillon. A 12-factor gear ratio allows the planetary minutes system to empower the progression of the hours. To optimize the movement’s efficiency as much as possible, the hour and minute display system is fixed on two very wide and high-precision ball bearings.

The hour hand is inspired by Boba Fett™’s jetpack and the minute hand by its rocket, two iconic items that the bounty hunter carries permanently.

Dial

The clarity and symmetry of the Boba Fett™-inspired Tourbillon dial belies the complexity of its manual-wound central tourbillon movement, which is composed of 220 parts. It is open at its center, allowing a glimpse of the movement's heart beneath Boba Fett™'s spaceship platform.

Next to the fixed hour wheel, the rehaut is adorned using the watchmaking decoration technique of perlage, bringing finesse and elegance to the dial.

 

45mm Titanium Case

Kross Studio showcases the KS 7'000 mechanical complication within a 45mm grade 5 titanium case, coated with chocolate PVD, with a sapphire crystal dome, elevating the watch with a distinctive expertise in horological craftsmanship.

Case Back

On the back of the case, the Studio's signature cross emblem is delicately emphasized on the barrel bridge. The fully skeletonized design provides a deep insight into the meticulously detailed components, showcasing wheels adorned with the Mythosaur skull.

Winding the watch and setting the time are effortlessly achieved using the "D-ring crown" on the case back and the "Time Set" push button, strategically positioned at 3 o'clock along the watch's edge. This system not only maintains design symmetry and enhances comfort compared to a traditional crown, but it also facilitates quicker winding, adding a practical touch to the overall experience.

Interchangeable Straps

The timepiece comes with three sets of straps: the first is in green polyamide strap embossed with the pattern of Boba Fett™’s chest armor, the second one is in chocolate color calf leather strap and the third one is in black rubber.

The straps can be easily changed thanks to our interchangeable strap system, facilitated by two quick-release buttons conveniently placed on the underside of the case, allowing for seamless customization based on individual preferences.

 

Boba Fett’s starship watch display

Kross Studio collaborated with EFX to produce watch displays designed specifically for the Boba Fett™ Collector Set. Renowned globally, EFX is recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship in crafting « screen accurate" limited edition prop replicas and collectibles inspired by beloved films, television, video games, and other forms of entertainment media.

 

A functional art piece

Each EFX Boba Fett™’s starship watch display is meticulously crafted to replicate the exact scale of the filming model featured in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™. Constructed with an aluminum and acrylic substructure, complemented by detail parts cast in resin, every intricate piece is individually cast from a master created using the same model kit parts employed in the production of the screen-used prop. Subsequently, each component undergoes careful finishing and hand-painting to ensure accuracy and authenticity.

 

A watch in the cockpit

The creation of the Boba Fett™'s starship-inspired watch display included a thorough analysis of the screen-used prop, ensuring an accurate and detailed representation of the iconic starship. Moreover, an enhancement has been incorporated into this starship, enabling it to seamlessly incorporate the Boba Fett™ Central Tourbillon watch. It effortlessly assumes its position in the cockpit, replacing the iconic pilot with remarkable naturalness.

Placed on a wooden structure equipped with a mirror and crafted in the workshops of Kross Studio, the starship can be admired from all sides, immersing the collector in the adventures of the bounty hunter.
