Carl Suchy & Söhne was founded in 1822 by Carl Suchy and quickly gained international recognition. As the sole Imperial and Royal Court Supplier of watches, the brand embodied the perfect combination of elegance, precision, and craftsmanship. Its clients included Emperor Franz Joseph I, Sigmund Freud, as well as aristocrats and intellectuals of the Habsburg monarchy.

In the second generation, Carl Suchy Junior strengthened the connection to Swiss watchmaking by founding his own pocket watch factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the home of Haute Horlogerie. His brother Hans opened a branch on the prominent Rotenturmstraße in Vienna, further enhancing the brand's prestige in the city. This close collaboration between Viennese elegance and Swiss precision became the hallmark of Carl Suchy & Söhne.

As history took its course after 1918, the traditions of imperial watchmaking remained a cherished legacy. In 2017, it was revived with the Waltz N°1, which is a tribute to the art and culture of Vienna. Today, Carl Suchy & Söhne continues the tradition of Austrian watchmaking in the 21st century.
