Cédric Johner
Cédric Johner embodies the essence of artisanal watchmaking as an independent in Geneva. Creator of unique watches, he stands out for his rare ability to design by hand, without technical plan, exceptional pieces at each stage of manufacture.
Having started his career as a jeweler, he merges his skills to shape watches in which up to 80% of the components are his own creation, from the case to the hands. His workshop, steeped in tradition, reflects his artistic approach. Inspired by his environment, he creates each watch as a work of art. Each mechanical component benefits from an exceptional level of finish.
Cédric works in a non-linear way, juggling between several models simultaneously to stimulate his creativity. This approach, similar to that of a painter, allows him to explore different perspectives and bring unique creations to life.
Although some details of his work may escape view, he is convinced that the traditional watchmaking art will endure. Cédric welcomes young enthusiasts in his workshop, sharing his know-how and thus contributing to the durability of this craft. The inscription of watchmaking know-how on the UNESCO World Heritage reinforces his conviction in a promising future for this art form.

CÉDRIC JOHNER - Pièce d'Atelier - Genève
Description
"Genève" is a unique piece that I made entirely in my workshop in Carouge, Geneva. This watch is made of polished steel and enhanced by a hand-sculpted engraving on the sides of the case. All around the dial are the typical buildings of the Geneva harbour overlooking Lake Geneva. The centre of the dial is finely chiseled by hand and covered with a translucent bluish lacquer. The three openings reveal parts of the hand-decorated mechanism. A mechanism that includes all the finishes for having been labeled by the prestigious hallmark of Geneva. At the back, the mechanism appears through the emblem of the canton of Geneva openwork and engraved by hand. With this "Genève" piece, I wanted to convey the strength and unique character of this international city where I was born.
Ref: Cj-02 "Genève A polished steel timepiece, entirely crafted and sculpted by hand. Automatic mechanism with micro-rotor winding in 22ct gold. 28,800 Alt/h.
