Kerbedanz La Loupe
Description
Magnifying Time. An evocative name for a timepiece that combines simplicity, elegance, and micromechanical prowess. At first glance, La Loupe appears discreet, yet it reveals the poetry of time through an innovative interplay of superimposed hour and minute indications, enhanced by a diamond.
A Pure and Refined Design. Measuring 38 mm in diameter, the 18-carat gold round case of La Loupe subtly blends two finishes: a delicate micro-beaded texture that highlights its pure form, and a captivating mirror polish that reflects light with elegance. Its discreet lugs integrate harmoniously with the case, striking the perfect balance between aesthetic refinement and wearing comfort.
The Hour Revealed by a Diamond. Unlike traditional timepieces, La Loupe uses only one hand, dedicated to the minutes. Hour indications are entrusted to a finely set diamond on a rotating disc that moves along the dial’s perimeter. As the hand travels, the diamond becomes the sole temporal marker. Each precise alignment of the circular hand with the diamond “magnifies” the current hour, as if time itself were being observed through a loupe.
The Magic of Superposition. This subtle mechanical choreography occurs with unwavering precision: The minute hand moves at a rate of 6° per minute. The diamond-bearing disc (equivalent to the hour hand) advances at 0.5° per minute. This angular gap closes every 65 minutes and 27 seconds, achieving perfect alignment. Over a 12-hour period, this alignment happens 11 times, showcasing the fascinating regularity of traditional watchmaking.
