KAURI - Modèle DUO
Description
DUO MODEL
KAURI watches have been conceived to be original, unique, and especially durable, particularly through an innovative design of the case, composed of a steel structure ensuring the watch's water resistance and the attachment of the bracelet, allowing the wood to solely adorn the watch.
In continuation of the first edition, this second model consists of a precious wood frame that embraces a 316L steel bezel and an automatic movement. More discreet than the previous model, wood still holds a significant place and asserts its character, particularly on the edge of the watch where a unique assembly of two wood essences can clearly be distinguished, fully revealed in the sunlight.
Similar to Model No. 01, each step in the design of this second model, from design to prototyping, including technical plans, is carried out at the KAURI workshop located in Plan-les-Ouates (Geneva). The wooden case is also crafted there, as well as the customized final assembly.
Available in 38mm or 41mm, its seemingly clean design conceals a confident character, notably through a complex case and this unique association between precious wood and stainless steel.
Wood essences used:
The Broussin de Bruyère, wood used for crafting smoking pipes, has a very aesthetic "flame" grain. Swiss Ebony is walnut wood from sustainable forests in Switzerland. It undergoes an innovative compression process, giving it characteristics similar to natural ebony, hence the name "Swiss ebony."
