XRBY x ROSE SANEUIL - Le Quetzal
Description
The XRby Rose Saneuil Watch, Le Quetzal
The first collaboration was launched in December 2020. Xavier Rousset opened the ball with a Paris-based marquetry craftswoman, a graduate of the Ecole Boulle: XRby Rose Saneuil.
The dial is topped by a sapphire case and it is a quetzal with shimmering colors that stands out. This bird, sacred in the Mayan civilisation and a symbol of freedom, has a resplendent plumage in emerald and ruby. To give the dial its dazzling colours, Rose Saneuil used materials as diverse as wood, rye straw, animal parchment, lamb leather, mother-of-pearl and beetle elytra with their inimitable shades: a total of 214 elements and 16 materials were scanned in 3D to create optical simulations. It is necessary to underline the intelligence of the hand, at a time when artificial intelligence is implemented in a growing number of applications, almost making us forget that it was originally ... purely human.
Another important precision: all the watches are and will continue to be stamped Made in Jura Mountains, with all the components coming from the Jura Geographical Massif: a fine tribute by this native of the region to this land that is as well watchmaking as artistic, like Courbet's Franco-Swiss works. Excellence, requirement: here, the crafts is once again at the heart of watchmaking creations, to the delight of art and watchmaking enthusiasts the world over.
The 16 materials making up the dial Speckled maple - sky blue, Myth Magnifying Glass, Sycamore - yellow, Straw - water green, Parchment - green, Sycamore - almond green, Charm - almond green, Sycamore wavy - green, Beetle elytra - green, Charm - fir green, Straw - water mint green, Tulip tree - avocado green, Straw - khaki green, Calf leather - mine green, Sycamore - black
